VALERIE'S LADY ASHLEY FINISHED ROOMS

`
Here is a tour of the finished rooms in the Lady Ashley.

We will give you 3 shots—right, center, and left so you can see a panorama of the room.

The kitchen is ready to enjoy some good food; even the dog has a bowl of food.

Valerie cut a Michael’s hutch in half to make additional cupboard space above the sink.
All of the major furniture is Melissa and Doug’s.
Padded cushions were added to the chairs for a more comfortable seating.

The curtains were made from a soft yellow percale to which some lace was added.

Beads cover the ends of the curtain rods, made from a very narrow dowel.
The rugs were cut from washcloths.  The baby’s high chair (a Dollar Tree item)
peeks out from beneath the stairs.

An odd little stand holds a bread box and some kitchen towels.

The living room has some Melissa and Doug accessories.

The furniture is reupholstered Dollar Tree items.
The end tables on either side of the couch were made from scrap wood.
The legs that were taken off the furniture that was reupholstered.

The one lamp is made from beads and a creamer cup.

The bear pillow is a pair of appliqués stitched together and lightly stuffed.
The center rug is a fancy doily.
The curtains are sheer panels with a valance.
The chest on the right is a DT piece and the books atop it are Melissa and Doug’s.

The wall to wall carpeting is upholstery fabric.

The upstairs hall has a ribbed upholstery fabric.
The curtains are a soft percale that gathered very nicely.

Valerie built a little window seat under the window and upholstered it in velvet.
She also added velvet to the chair seats.  The throw rug is cut from a plush washcloth.
The furniture is all DT.
Tiny knick knacks sit on the shelves of the little bookcase.

The nursery is done for a little girl.

The teddy bear decorations on the wall were cut from wallpaper.
The toys were found in several stores—nothing was very expensive.

The little lamp on the table was made from a little figure with a toothpaste cap shade,
trimmed with a little bit of lace.
The lamp on the chest is made from beads.
There is a can of baby powder—which is actually a piece of dowel with a flat bead on top.

The carpeting in this room is a textured wash cloth.

This is Valerie’s Master Bedroom.
  I love this room.
The rug in this room is while plush fur which is wonderful on the feet.

The furniture is all repainted DT stuff.  The bed is made from scratch.

The little chest is from Michael’s.
A dress (actually from the scrapbooking department) is laid out on the bed.

Someone is getting dressed for the evening.

The drapes are a grey ribbed metallic fabric that draped very nicely.
The laptop computer is made from a right angle molding cutting.
Seed buttons made the keys and a picture
cut from the back of a calendar made the screensaver.

The bathroom floor is a sheet of pressed foam.
The throw rug is (what else) a cut wash cloth.

We found some wonderful textured washcloths at a clearance store for $1.00 apiece.

Can’t beat that!  This room is pretty much self explanatory!

This is a spare sitting room--someplace quiet to escape to.

The dollhouse sitting on the floor is a Christmas tree ornament.

This is the little boy’s tower room.  Scattered around the room are boy things--
a croquet mallet, a car, cleats and a football helmet.
  Eeyore is still his favorite.

If you have any questions about any of the items,
e-mail us and we’ll be happy to explain what we used or how we did something.

Enjoy!!!
