RITA'S HERITAGE

This is another house found in a forgotten album.
I loved this house.
I used a color scheme that I saw on a Bed and Breakfast in one of our travels.
I thought the blue and purple combination was striking.
I prefer a house with irregularities instead of one with four straight sides.

I did something unique with the back of this house.
With small pieces of wood I made an enclosure for the back.
I covered one piece with shingles to match to roof
(there are always leftovers).
I put two little nails in the house roof and
drilled two little holes in the added piece.
I then simply hung the added roof to cover the cut out.

For the back of the house I painted a
window and door to match the theme of the house.
There was a small ledge where the base of the house
 extended from the house itself.
I simple tucked the back enclosure under the roof overhang
and rested it on the little ledge.
Worked like a charm.
I also enclosed a log cabin in the same manner.
The cabin was donated to a school raffle.
 Unfortunately we have no pictures.

I gave this house to my niece, Carla
She is now a 30 year old woman and still enjoys her house.
She changes the yard ornaments to reflect
the holidays and special times of the year.
