This kitchen set is made up of odd pieces.
The hutch was an unpainted piece we found in AC Moore.
I built the table from a plaque and four spindles.
I had four odd chairs that I made plaid seat cushions for.
On the table is matching place mats,
(simple little rectangles from which the ends were raveled out to make a fringe.)
The candle holders are fancy beads with toothpicks for the candles.

The open hutch shows some of our “making do”.
The large dishes on the top self are the inserts from orange juice cartons.
I added a decal to the center and just painted lightly around the edges.
The green glasses are simply a colored straw that I cut down to size.
The second shelf is all buttons.
The dishes have a colored paper punch out to cover the holes.
The little bowls in front of them are buttons also.
We have used those same buttons inverted to make little wall light fixtures.
The dishes on the bottom shelf are also buttons
with a star punch-out of colored paper.
The salt and pepper shakers are little beads with a silver bead cap on top.
I also used for the glass in the windows,
the heavy transparent plastic that is used in packaging many toys, minis etc.
 It works like a charm.

Valerie gave this hutch a face lift with new white bead knobs
and some rub-ons on the lower doors.

These appliances were made from left over scraps
 from doll house kits.
We cut any large serviceable pieces from the frames that are left
after the doll house pieces are removed.
The back of the sink was the interior piece of a fancy porch punch out.  Visualize what can be made from the remaining frames.
A large piece which surrounded a rectangle,
which was used in the construction of the house,
became the sink top.
A perfect hole remained to which a jelly container
from a restaurant was glued.  Instant sink top!!!
The sink, stove and drawer fronts are simply
window punch out centers glued to the front of the appliances.
Marble contact paper covers the counter and sink tops.
Tube beads create long handles on the refrigerator and stove.
A bent nail glued head down makes the faucet.
Assorted silver beads make the knobs on the sink and stove.
 The burner tops are lock washers with sequin centers;
the surface grill is a corrugated fastener.
