VALERIE'S SWEETHEART COTTAGE
Valerie’s Sweet Heart Cottage
will be a flower shop called “Bloomin’ Blooms”.
She did away with the little heart
trims and the flower boxes.
For trim,
the shutters have fused ribbon glued to them.
The brick around the bottom covers the slots from the flooring.
Instead of using the steps, which had
to be assembled
that came in the kit, she used
two blocks of wood
and achieved the same result.
Her shop sign is one of the flower box
fronts inverted.
She added several little silk
flowers for a nice 3 dimensional touch.
For the interior of the house, Valerie
chose a light blue wall paper.
The floor
is contact paper.
Her downstairs windows are
framed with a blue ribbon.
Gathered
lace makes the valances and little appliqués are also added.
Here is a close-up of the upstairs
windows.
She again used the blue ribbon for the
lower part of the window.
The curved
upper portion is mini flowers.
Much easier
than the wood frame and
perfect for the flower shop
theme.

This is the finished front of Valerie’s
Sweet Heart Cottage.
She used left over shingles from another kit to shingle the
roof.

Here is a close
up of the picture window and door of the shop.
You can see some of the flower arrangements
through the window. The door shows off a wreath.
She made the wreath by using a round
window trim
to which
the flowers were glued.
A small bow
adds a finishing touch.

Her flower arrangements were made from
dried and plastic flowers that worked
very well.
She used beads, terra cotta
pots and baskets (some homemade)
to display her arrangements.
The corner
shelf and the ones on the wall were made
from
woodies and bits of wood and braces left over from other kits.
Little tables were also used for
display purposes.

"Bloomin'
Blooms" Flower Shop

Here are two shots
of the downstairs.
You can see more detail in the
floral arrangements.
The cash
register is one of
Jim
Collins offerings.

The
upstairs was finished as a lounge for employees.
The first room has a refrigerator and microwave
thanks to
Jim
Collins.
The table
was built from scratch,
and the sink was a punch out
piece.
She used a piece of foam board to give
privacy in the bathroom area.
The sink
was built with sculptamold over a dowel base.
Beads made the water taps and a bent nail served for the faucet.
The whole shop made up very nicely.
This shop has found a new home in the new home of a dear friend.
